June 25th sees the 1st Year Anniversary of the ‘King Of Pop’ Michael Jackson’s death. It is also the date of the ‘Music Icon’s auction being held at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, where 22 exquisite furniture lots belonging to the King will go under the hammer.

These items, made exclusively for Michael Jackson by Italian furniture makers, Colombostile, will be accompanied by another exclusive Lot, those of the original design sketches by Kenneth Bordewick, of Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors, who together with Michael Jackson and Colombostile created what have now become iconic pieces that would have been at home in Foxbury Manor, Kent – Michael Jackson’s UK home whilst on the ‘This Is It’ Tour.

Kenneth Bordewick and Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors, who had previously worked with Michael Jackson and many other esteemed clients (Brad Pitt, Mariah Carey, Sir Paul McCartney, Courtney Cox, Donald Trump, HRH The Prince Charles, Prince Of Wales…) were the obvious choice to create this home away from home.

Kenneth Bordewick says, “We went through a process of looking at many British country homes and finally settled on Foxbury Manor, Kent, which for many reasons was the only choice to be made; it is only 10 miles from London’s O2 Arena, where Michael Jackson was going to be performing, it has 32 bedrooms, 11 of them massive suites, the main suite being 1,800 sq ft, has a movie theatre and indoor pool. The entire property was 22,000 sq ft set in 8 acres of grounds, which include a lake.”

Kenneth Bordewick explains the thought process behind the incredible furniture designs:
“The Feather Chair came about because Michael was always conscious about who his guests were and conscientious about their needs, thus we came up with the chair with the feathers around the top for Elizabeth Taylor. The feather’s were placed on the back of the chair to silhouette Elizabeth’s beautiful black hair and her violet eyes – rather like a portrait collar on a woman’s suit.”

“The Seashell Chair was specifically designed for Michael’s daughter Paris because she really loves the sea and he very much wanted his children to feel at home in this new house.”
